Veteran television actor Ram Kapoor has once again become the center of attention inside Lock Upp 2, but this time it wasn’t because of an argument or task. During a candid conversation with fellow contestants, the actor made a surprising confession about his dating life before marriage, admitting that he was a “playboy” and had more relationships than he could even count.
The conversation began when influencer and co-contestant Shreya Kalra decided to ask Ram a rather personal question. Curious about his romantic history, she asked him how many affairs he had had in his lifetime.
Ram first responded with a smile, saying, “After marriage, not a single one.” When Shreya clarified that she was referring to the years before he tied the knot, the actor chose complete honesty over hesitation.
Without trying to downplay his past, Ram admitted that he had been a “playboy” in his younger days and confessed that the number of relationships he had before marriage was simply “too many to count.” His straightforward answer left the contestants surprised and quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from the episode.
Ram then went on to share an interesting story from the time he decided to marry actor Gautami Kapoor in 2003. According to him, one of the people most worried about the marriage was television producer Ektaa Kapoor, who has remained a close friend over the years.
Recalling the incident, Ram revealed that when news of their wedding spread, Ektaa personally called Gautami and questioned her decision. He said she warned Gautami by reminding her of his long list of past relationships and genuinely expressed concern about whether she was making the right choice. Rather than feeling offended by the warning, Ram admitted that Ektaa’s concerns were understandable. He acknowledged that his reputation at the time justified her reaction and accepted that he was indeed the kind of person she was describing.
However, the actor stressed that everything changed after he got married. Ram said he has remained completely committed to Gautami throughout their marriage and has never had an affair since tying the knot. His light-hearted confession was followed by a sincere acknowledgment of the importance of loyalty in marriage.
Ram and Gautami first met on the sets of the television show Ghar Ek Mandir in 2000. After dating for a few years and living together, the couple got married on Valentine’s Day in 2003. More than two decades later, they continue to share a strong relationship and are parents to two children, Sia and Aks.
Ram’s candid remarks on Lock Upp 2 have sparked plenty of discussion online, with viewers debating his openness about his past and his views on relationships. While some social media users criticized his comments, others appreciated his honesty and willingness to speak openly about mistakes from his younger years.
Amid the online chatter, Gautami Kapoor also made her stance clear. Showing support for her husband, she shared a picture of Ram from the reality show on social media along with the words, “We miss you,” and “Love and respect,” accompanied by a red heart emoji. Her public message reassured fans that despite Ram’s revelations about his past, their relationship remains strong, with the couple continuing to stand firmly by each other after more than 23 years of marriage.
