Massive Fire at Noida’s Aranya Society After Suspected AC Explosion

Panic gripped residents of Noida’s Aranya Society in Sector 119 after a massive fire broke out on the 21st floor of one of the residential towers on Monday. Thick black smoke billowed into the sky as flames rapidly engulfed an apartment before spreading to a neighbouring flat, triggering a large-scale emergency response.

The incident, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sector 113 Police Station, prompted frantic scenes inside the high-rise as residents rushed to safety while firefighters battled the blaze from multiple points. Videos from the society showed towering flames shooting out of the upper floors, drawing the attention of people from nearby residential areas.

According to preliminary information, the fire is suspected to have been triggered by a blast in an air conditioner unit. With temperatures soaring across the region, officials believe the AC malfunction may have sparked the blaze, although the exact cause will be confirmed only after a detailed forensic examination by the fire department.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported. Emergency teams acted swiftly to evacuate the immediate area and ensure that no residents remained trapped inside the affected flats. Authorities said the quick response helped prevent what could have turned into a much larger tragedy.

Soon after receiving the distress call, six fire tenders were rushed to the society. Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the flames and stop them from spreading to other apartments in the tower. Police personnel cordoned off the area to facilitate rescue operations, manage the crowd and ensure an uninterrupted water supply for firefighting efforts.

Even after the main fire was brought under control, cooling operations continued to eliminate any remaining hotspots and prevent the possibility of the blaze reigniting. Fire officials remained stationed at the site to closely monitor the affected building.

The incident also drew the immediate attention of the Uttar Pradesh government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the fire and directed senior district officials to reach the spot without delay. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, officials have been instructed to expedite relief and rescue operations, secure the entire area and ensure that immediate medical assistance is available if required.

The latest incident has once again raised concerns about fire safety in high-rise residential buildings, particularly during the peak summer season when electrical appliances such as air conditioners remain under heavy load. Experts have repeatedly advised residents to service cooling units regularly and avoid overloading electrical circuits to minimise the risk of fire.

Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed investigation into the incident once firefighting operations are fully completed. Meanwhile, residents of Aranya Society continue to assess the damage as officials work to ensure the building is safe for occupancy.
