Virat Kohli’s One8 Delhi Event Turns Chaotic: Fans Slam “Hours in Queue, No Show Experience”

What was expected to be a high-energy celebration of sports, music, and fashion quickly turned into a frustrating experience for thousands of fans at cricket superstar Virat Kohli’s One8 Global Premiere event in Delhi. Held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, the much-hyped evening reportedly drew an enormous crowd, but poor crowd management and technical failures overshadowed the spectacle.

The event had generated massive excitement in the days leading up to it, especially after Kohli announced a special collaboration with Punjabi music star Karan Aujla. On stage, the duo delivered a lively crossover moment, with Kohli openly expressing admiration for Aujla and even grooving to his popular track “Winning Speech.” Fashion designer Masaba Gupta also added glamour to the night, showcasing the brand’s latest collection on the ramp.

However, behind the bright lights and viral clips, a very different reality unfolded for many attendees. Reports suggest that the venue was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of fans, with entry queues stretching for hours. Several attendees claimed they spent most of their time waiting outside rather than experiencing the event itself.

Social media quickly filled with complaints, with one widely shared post stating, “I literally spent 90% of my night standing in line, completely missing the show.” Many others echoed similar frustration, describing long delays, confusion at entry points, and a lack of proper communication from event staff.

The problems didn’t end there. Attendees also reported major technical disruptions inside the venue. Digital payment systems allegedly failed due to network issues, leaving fans unable to buy food, water, or merchandise. UPI transactions and card machines reportedly stopped functioning, adding to the chaos.

Concerns about safety also surfaced, with some claiming that crowd control barriers were poorly managed, creating uncomfortable and potentially risky situations at certain entry points. A shortage of visible ground staff and unclear signage further added to the confusion, leaving many families and first-time visitors stranded for extended periods.

Despite the growing criticism, clips from the stage showing Kohli and Aujla’s energetic performance continued to circulate online, highlighting a stark contrast between the glamorous on-stage moments and the frustration outside.

Ultimately, while the event reaffirmed Kohli’s unmatched star power and mass appeal, it also raised serious questions about event planning and crowd management. For many fans, what was meant to be a memorable night celebrating their idol turned into an exhausting experience defined more by queues and chaos than entertainment.
