India Condemns Iran’s Attack On UAE Port

India has condemned Iran’s attack on the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which injured three Indians.

Spokesperson of the Indian Foreign Affairs Ministry Randhir Jaiswal wrote on X, “The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable. We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians.

The post asserted India’s resolution to stand for dialogue and diplomacy in order to ensure peace and stability in West Asia.

The Ministry further added, “We also call for free and unimpeded navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz in keeping with international law. India stands ready to support all efforts for a peaceful resolution of issues.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condemned the attack, describing the act of targeting civilians and infrastructure as “unacceptable”.

“Strongly condemn the attacks on the UAE that resulted in injuries to three Indian nationals. Targeting civilians and infrastructure is unacceptable,” he posted on X “India stands in firm solidarity with the UAE and reiterates its support for the peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue and diplomacy. Ensuring safe and unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is vital for enduring regional peace, stability and global energy security.”

The UAE Defence Ministry reported its air defences engaging 15 missiles and four drones fired by Iran. Authorities in the eastern emirate of Fajairah said a drone triggered fire at its largest oil facility and injured three Indian workers.

The British military reported two cargo vessels on fire near the UAE coast.

While neither confirming nor denying the attacks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, on Tuesday, warned the US and the UAE on X that the two countries “should be wary of being dragged back into a quagmire.”

According to Iranian state television, citing an anonymous military official, Tehran denied any plans to target UAE or its oil zones.

“The incident resulted from US military adventurism to create an illegal passage,” said the official.
