Divyenndu may already be one of the most recognised faces in the OTT world, but the actor says he still feels “hungry” when it comes to proving himself as a performer. Recently, the actor opened up about the pressure and excitement surrounding Mirzapur The Film, while also speaking honestly about being typecast in certain emotionally troubled roles.

Divyenndu became a household name after playing Munna Bhaiya in the hugely popular series Mirzapur. His intense performance and unforgettable dialogue delivery turned the character into a fan favourite almost overnight. Now, with Mirzapur making its way to the big screen, the actor admits the project feels like a massive gamble.

According to him, adapting such a successful web series into a film comes with huge expectations. Fans already feel emotionally attached to the characters and story, which increases the pressure on the team. Divyenndu shared that everyone involved understands the responsibility and wants to deliver something exciting while staying true to the essence of Mirzapur.

The actor also hinted that the film version will be much bigger in scale and intensity. While he avoided revealing too many details, he made it clear that the makers are aiming for a cinematic experience that feels fresh for audiences.

During the conversation, Divyenndu also addressed the issue of typecasting in the industry. He jokingly referred to many of his past characters as “daddy issues” personalities — emotionally damaged, angry, or complicated men trying to deal with inner struggles. While he appreciates that audiences connected with these performances, he admitted he sometimes wishes people could see him beyond those kinds of roles.

The actor explained that once a character becomes iconic, it becomes difficult for audiences and filmmakers to separate the actor from that image. Munna Bhaiya brought him massive popularity, but it also created a fixed perception around him. Even then, Divyenndu says he doesn’t want to repeat himself constantly.

What stood out most in his interview was his honesty about ambition. Despite years of success and recognition, he said he still feels restless creatively. He wants to keep exploring different characters and challenge himself as an actor instead of becoming too comfortable.

Fans online appreciated his candid thoughts and praised him for being self-aware about the realities of the entertainment industry. Many also expressed excitement about seeing him return to the world of Mirzapur once again.

With Mirzapur The Film already generating strong buzz, audiences are now waiting to see whether Divyenndu can recreate the same magic that made Munna Bhaiya one of the most iconic OTT characters in India.
