A satire platform named “Cockroach Janta Party” has rapidly gained traction on social media, amassing over 6.6 million followers on Instagram within just a few days of its emergence.
The platform, which describes itself as “a political front of the youth, by the youth, for the youth,” has posted around 50 pieces of content so far, including images and short-form videos (reels). Its sharp, humorous take on political themes appears to have struck a chord with younger audiences online.
According to details available on its website, the project was created by an individual named Abhijeet Dipke, who identifies himself as the “Founding President” of the so-called Cockroach Janta Party. The website clearly mentions in its footnote that it is a work of satire, positioning the initiative as a parody rather than a real political entity.
Interestingly, the site also features a form inviting users to “join” the party, adding an interactive element that has likely contributed to its viral growth.
In terms of social media scale, the rapid rise of this satire page is notable. For comparison, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has approximately 1.9 million followers on Instagram, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has around 8.7 million followers and the Congress stands at about 13.2 million.
The sudden popularity of Cockroach Janta Party highlights the growing influence of political satire in India’s digital space, where meme culture and humor-driven commentary are increasingly shaping online engagement and discourse.
