Only Tilak Varma (37) and Suryakumar Yadav (35) showed some resistance, but the innings never recovered after repeated setbacks.
CSK’s bowlers then finished the job efficiently. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein claimed 4/17, while Noor Ahmad added 2/23, tightening the screws on a helpless MI middle order. The defeat was not just another loss; it was Mumbai’s biggest by runs in IPL history, a result that will intensify scrutiny on Hardik Pandya’s leadership and the team’s overall balance.
