Tamil actor Ajith Kumar has resumed his professional commitments just days after the passing of his mother, Mohini Mani, who died on May 30 at the age of 89. The actor returned to the racetrack on Thursday, drawing an outpouring of support from fans across social media.

Ajith Kumar Racing shared an emotional update on its official social media handles, posting pictures of the actor in his racing gear as he prepared to get back to work.
The caption read, “Back at work with a heavy heart but life must go on,” reflecting the actor’s quiet resilience during a difficult time. Some of the images also captured reflective moments before the race.
Family pays tribute to Mohini Mani
In a heartfelt statement, the family remembered Mohini Mani’s life, values, and enduring influence. They described her as a person known for her kindness, selflessness, and quiet grace.
“We are comforted, even in this time of grief, that she lived a long life and was surrounded by love and respect,” the statement read.
The family also highlighted her journey as part of the Sindhi community that migrated to India during Partition, noting the strength it took to rebuild life from scratch and the pride she felt in her family’s achievements.

Final rites in Chennai
Mohini Mani’s last rites were held on May 31 at Besant Nagar Crematorium in Chennai, where Ajith personally participated in the ceremonies.
Several prominent figures from the Tamil film industry paid their respects, while Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin also met Ajith to offer condolences. The actor had reportedly rushed back from Dubai upon hearing the news to be with his family.
