A late-night altercation outside a popular nightclub in Chandigarh has led to the arrest of four individuals, including the manager of Punjabi singer Karan Aujla. The incident, which allegedly involved assault, criminal intimidation, brandishing of a firearm, and reckless driving, is now under investigation by the Chandigarh Police.

The violent clash reportedly occurred around 2:00 AM on July 12, 2026, outside a nightclub in Sector 7, Chandigarh, leaving one person injured and triggering a police operation that resulted in arrests in Haryana.

NRI Student Alleges Brutal Assault

According to the police complaint, the victim, Dhruv Trehan, an NRI student pursuing finance studies in France, was at the nightclub with a friend when an argument broke out. Trehan alleged that he stepped in to calm the situation, but instead became the target of a group assault. The complaint states that the accused allegedly twisted his fingers, punched him repeatedly, and struck him with a steel kada. During the altercation, one of the attackers is also accused of lifting a table and throwing it at him.

The assault reportedly caused injuries to Trehan’s head, hand, and left ear. He was later taken to Sector 16 Government Hospital, where he underwent a medical examination before filing a formal complaint.

Fight Escalates After Gun Allegedly Displayed

The confrontation reportedly intensified after members of the accused group allegedly walked to their BMW X7, retrieved a pistol, and waved it in the air. According to the complaint, the weapon was allegedly displayed to intimidate the victim as well as the nightclub’s security staff and bouncers, discouraging them from intervening in the fight.

Police are also investigating allegations that while fleeing the scene, the suspects drove the SUV recklessly, allegedly attempting to hit club employees and damaging several parked vehicles in the parking area.

Four Arrested, Including Karan Aujla’s Manager

Following the complaint, the Sector 26 Police Station registered a case under the Arms Act and other relevant legal provisions. Police later conducted a raid in Karnal, Haryana, where four accused were apprehended.

Those arrested include:

  • Baldeep Singh Sarao, also known as Bali, who is reported to be Punjabi singer Karan Aujla’s manager.
  • Aniket Gupta, who has been accused of initiating the dispute and allegedly issuing death threats during the incident. The complaint also claims he identified himself as the son of a judge named Munish Gupta.
  • Jagdeep Singh Kang, alias Jaggi, who has previously been named as an accused in the 2022 rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali.
  • Tanminder Singh.

Authorities have not yet disclosed whether any of the accused have responded to the allegations.

CCTV Footage Under Examination

The Chandigarh Police’s operation cell is continuing its investigation by questioning the arrested individuals and examining CCTV footage from inside and outside the nightclub.

Investigators are attempting to establish the exact sequence of events, verify the allegations surrounding the display of the firearm, and determine the extent of the damage caused during the suspects’ departure from the venue. Officials are also expected to examine witness statements and forensic evidence as part of the ongoing probe.

Investigation Continues

The case has attracted widespread attention because of the alleged involvement of high-profile individuals and the serious nature of the accusations. Police have stated that the investigation remains ongoing and that all evidence, including surveillance footage and witness accounts, will be thoroughly reviewed before further legal action is taken. The incident has once again raised concerns about late-night violence, the alleged misuse of firearms, and public safety outside entertainment venues.
