Rajasthan Chief Secretary has directed government departments to take prompt and time-bound action on public grievances registered through the 181 Sampark Portal, with special emphasis on drinking water-related complaints from rural areas.

During a review of the complaints being received through the portal, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to ensure that grievances related to tubewells, pipeline leakages and handpumps are addressed on priority. The directions come with an emphasis on providing timely relief to residents, particularly in rural areas where access to drinking water can become a major concern when supply infrastructure develops faults.

Officials have been asked to closely monitor complaints and ensure that cases are not left pending for extended periods. The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of effective coordination between departments so that complaints registered through the 181 system reach the concerned officials and are resolved within the prescribed timeframe.

Focus on Pending Panchayati Raj Cases

The Chief Secretary also reviewed pending matters related to the Panchayati Raj Department. Officials were directed to take time-bound action on unresolved cases, including matters related to land allotment deeds, or pattas, along with other pending public grievances.

The emphasis on resolving such cases is aimed at improving administrative efficiency and ensuring that citizens do not have to repeatedly approach government offices regarding matters that have already been registered through the grievance redressal system.

Energy Department Told to Update Complaint Status

The Energy Department was also given specific instructions regarding complaints registered on the 181 Sampark Portal. Officials have been directed to regularly update the status of complaints so that the progress of each case can be monitored.

Regular status updates are expected to provide greater clarity about whether a complaint has been received, is under process or has been resolved. The move also aims to strengthen monitoring of departmental performance through the grievance portal.

Chief Secretary Inspects Secretariat Library

During the visit to the Rajasthan Secretariat, the Chief Secretary also inspected the Secretariat Library. The inspection included a review of the facilities and arrangements available at the library.

The directions regarding the 181 Sampark Portal underline the administration’s focus on improving grievance redressal and ensuring greater accountability among departments.

With thousands of public complaints being routed through the system, timely disposal and regular status updates remain important for ensuring that citizens receive responses and solutions within the expected timeframe. The latest instructions are aimed at strengthening monitoring and ensuring that pending grievances are dealt with within defined timelines.
