Mumbai: Allcargo Logistics Ltd has appointed Vijay Nehra as managing director-designate and chief transformation officer, paving the way for him to take over as the company’s managing director and chief executive officer from January 1, 2027. The appointment remains subject to the required shareholder approvals, according to the company’s stock exchange filing.

Nehra is set to succeed Ketan Kulkarni, who currently serves as Allcargo Logistics’ managing director and CEO. From January 1, Kulkarni will move into a group-level position as chief growth officer of Allcargo Group, where he will focus on sales, marketing and identifying new growth opportunities across emerging industries.

Leadership Restructuring After Demerger

The leadership changes are part of a broader restructuring at Allcargo Group following its demerger. The reorganisation has resulted in the group’s businesses operating under more focused leadership and governance structures.

As part of the realignment, Dinesh Lal has also been appointed chairman of Allcargo Logistics.

In his new group-level role, Kulkarni will work on identifying new avenues for growth and value creation, with a particular focus on emerging industries. Both Kulkarni and Nehra will report to Punit Misra, chief business officer of Allcargo Group.

Nehra Brings Diverse Industry Experience

Nehra, who joined Allcargo’s top management effective October 1, brings experience across several sectors, including supply chain, financial services, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, e-commerce and technology-led businesses.

He began his professional career in supply chain management at Hindustan Unilever, before moving into senior sales and customer-management roles. He later held finance leadership positions at Indiabulls Real Estate and Indiabulls Housing Finance.

Nehra subsequently served as chief executive officer of Indiabulls Asset Reconstruction Company. Before joining Allcargo Logistics, he was the CEO of Ozone Pharma.

His educational and professional background includes a Master Mariner qualification, a postgraduate programme in management from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and a Bachelor of Nautical Sciences from T.S. Chanakya, University of Mumbai.

Focus on Operational Efficiency and Growth

Commenting on his new role, Nehra said his focus at Allcargo will be on operational excellence, improving yields and driving volume growth as India’s economy expands and creates opportunities across sectors.

Allcargo Logistics operates across multiple segments, including Express Distribution, Air Freight, Ecommerce Logistics and First and Last Mile Delivery. The company says its network covers districts across India, providing exposure to both enterprise logistics and consumer-focused delivery operations.

The leadership transition comes at an important stage for Allcargo as the group adjusts to its post-demerger structure and seeks to sharpen the focus of its individual businesses.

Meanwhile, Allcargo Logistics shares closed 2.3% lower at Rs 10.57 on Tuesday. The stock has declined nearly 12% so far in 2026 and is down around 67% over the past 12 months.
