Superstar ‘Rajinikanth’ has once again set social media ablaze. The first-look poster of his much-awaited 173rd film, officially titled Dharman, was unveiled on June 24, and it has already become one of the most talked-about reveals in Indian cinema this year. Produced by Kamal Haasan under Raaj Kamal Films International and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, the film promises to showcase Rajinikanth in a never-seen-before avatar.

What has grabbed everyone’s attention is the shocking image featured in the poster. Rajinikanth is seen dressed as a doctor inside an operation theatre, holding a blood-stained scalpel. His intense expression, combined with the dark atmosphere surrounding him, hints at a character far removed from the traditional healer audiences are used to seeing on screen. The poster also carries the striking tagline, “The Deadly Doctor,” instantly fueling speculation about the nature of his role.

For months, the project was known only as Thalaivar 173, with fans eagerly waiting for updates. The official title reveal finally ended the suspense, and the name Dharman has already resonated strongly with audiences. Adding to the intrigue is the film’s tagline, “Dharmame Vellum” (Righteousness Alone Shall Triumph), suggesting that beneath the violence and mystery lies a larger story about justice and morality.

The film has had a long and eventful journey to the launch stage. Reports indicate that the project underwent multiple changes behind the scenes before Ashwath Marimuthu was finalized as director. Now that production has officially begun in Chennai, excitement around the film has reached an all-time high.

Interestingly, industry buzz about Rajinikanth playing a doctor had surfaced weeks ago, but many fans dismissed it as speculation. The first-look poster has now all but confirmed those rumors, revealing what could be one of the most unconventional characters of his legendary career.

With music by Anirudh Ravichander and action choreography by the acclaimed duo Anbariv, Dharman already boasts a powerhouse creative team. The combination of Rajinikanth’s star power, Kamal Haasan’s production backing, and a chilling first look has turned the film into one of the most anticipated releases on the horizon.
