A years-old anecdote from the sets of Revolver Rani has once again become the centre of online discussion, prompting comedian-actor Vir Das to publicly dismiss the claims while bringing back Kangana Ranaut’s humorous reaction from 2023.

The controversy began after journalist Simi Chandoke, during a recent podcast appearance, recalled an alleged incident from the shooting of the 2014 film Revolver Rani. According to her version, Kangana Ranaut became so immersed in filming an intense kissing scene with Vir Das that she allegedly continued after the director had called cut, reportedly leaving the actor with an injured lip.

The story quickly gained traction on social media, with users sharing old reports and clips from the film. However, Vir Das has now firmly rejected the claim, calling it completely fabricated. Responding to the viral discussion, the actor said the story was “pure fiction” and described the allegations as unfair. He also defended Kangana, praising her professionalism and calling her a gifted performer, making it clear that no such incident took place during the filming of Revolver Rani.

As the debate resurfaced, many social media users also revisited Kangana Ranaut’s reaction from 2023, when similar rumours had circulated online. At the time, the actress responded through her Instagram Stories with her trademark sarcasm. Referring to the allegation, she joked, “After Hrithik Roshan, have I now robbed poor Vir Das of his honour too? When did this happen?” The post, accompanied by laughing and facepalm emojis, made it clear that she considered the claim baseless rather than worthy of a serious response.

The rumours date back to promotional stories surrounding Revolver Rani, a dark political comedy directed by Sai Kabir and released in 2014. Kangana played the fierce politician Alka Singh, while Vir Das portrayed Bollywood actor Rohan Mehra. Their unconventional on-screen chemistry, including a passionate kissing sequence, became one of the film’s talking points during its release. Over the years, however, promotional narratives and behind-the-scenes anecdotes have often blended with unverified claims, leading to renewed speculation.

Vir Das’s latest clarification has now put the rumours to rest. By directly calling the viral story fictional, he has rejected the narrative that Kangana injured him during the shoot. His statement also reflects the cordial professional relationship the two actors have maintained despite recurring online speculation.

With both Kangana’s earlier response and Vir Das’s latest remarks now on record, the resurfaced controversy appears to have been settled. While social media continues to revisit old Bollywood stories, the actors involved have made it clear that this particular incident belongs more in the realm of internet gossip than reality.
