Television actress Shilpa Shinde broke down while revisiting one of the darkest chapters of her life on Lock Upp: Sach Yaa Sazaa. In an emotional conversation, the Bigg Boss 11 winner revealed how she became the target of a vicious smear campaign following her controversial exit from Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai in 2015–2016.
Among the most disturbing incidents she recalled was a fake, doctored “MMS” clip that was allegedly circulated online to tarnish her reputation. The actress shared that the experience left her traumatized and deeply affected not only her career but also her family.
‘My Blood Ran Cold’
Recounting the horrifying incident, Shilpa revealed that a journalist once contacted her with a video, claiming it was an explicit clip featuring her.
She admitted that the moments before opening the file were terrifying.
“While the video was downloading, I kept thinking if it was from my changing room or something like that. My blood ran cold for a moment,” she said.
However, after watching the clip, she immediately realized it wasn’t her. According to Shilpa, the video had been taken from a Hindi adult website and featured a blurred woman with a man. She firmly denied any connection to it.
“Are you mad? Look at the bedsheet, it’s so dirty. I know when my last relationship was and with whom. This is impossible,” she recalled telling the journalist.
Shilpa further alleged that despite her denial, she was asked whether the video should still be released. The incident forced her to spend nearly seven hours at a cyber crime unit to investigate the source of the clip.
According to the actress, the people behind the campaign allegedly took freeze-frames from the adult video, selected angles that vaguely resembled her, blurred the images, and circulated them online with the sensational headline, “Bhabhiji’s MMS is out.”
The Emotional Toll on Her Family
The fake video did not just affect Shilpa professionally it also caused immense pain within her family.
The actress recalled one heartbreaking conversation with her mother after the rumours spread.
“My mother asked me, and our society’s watchman asked my mother if her daughter’s MMS had leaked. How do you even respond to that? I have endured so much,” she said.
Her emotional confession highlighted how public controversies often extend far beyond celebrities, impacting their loved ones as well.
‘They Even Tried to Stop Me From Entering Bigg Boss’
Shilpa claimed the fake MMS controversy was only one part of what she described as a larger campaign of harassment.
She alleged that just before entering Bigg Boss 11, a criminal case was filed against her in an attempt to stop her from participating in the reality show.
“When I was going on Bigg Boss, they filed a criminal case against me. I had to secure bail and then enter the show. Imagine the insane degree of harassment I went through,” she revealed.
Despite those legal hurdles, Shilpa entered the Salman Khan-hosted reality show and ultimately emerged as the winner, marking one of the biggest comebacks in Indian television.
Fresh Revelations Amid Ongoing Controversy
Shilpa’s emotional revelations come months after she found herself at the center of another major controversy. During an appearance on Bharti Singh’s podcast earlier this year, the actress stated that her past sexual harassment allegations against Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai producer Sanjay Kohli were false.
The statement sparked widespread criticism within the television industry, with the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanding legal action against her.
Now, through her appearance on Lock Upp: Sach Yaa Sazaa, Shilpa has attempted to present her side of the story, opening up about the emotional trauma, public humiliation, and legal battles she says she endured during one of the most turbulent phases of her career.
