Sai Pallavi has opened up about the deeply personal and spiritual process she followed while preparing to play Goddess Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana. Rather than describing the role as just another acting challenge, the actress said she viewed it as a blessing and approached it with prayer, meditation, and complete surrender.

Speaking about the responsibility of portraying one of India’s most revered mythological figures, Sai Pallavi shared that she never looked at the role as something she had to “achieve.” Instead, she believes it came into her life through divine grace. According to the actress, she felt fortunate to be chosen for the role and wanted to honor it with sincerity rather than performance alone.

One of the most striking revelations from her interaction was her unconventional preparation. Instead of relying solely on script analysis or acting techniques, Sai Pallavi said she regularly meditated and prayed before filming. She recalled silently asking Goddess Sita to guide her performance, saying, “Sita Maa, you act through me. Whatever comes through me is what you want for the film.”

For Sai Pallavi, the preparation extended beyond rehearsals. She consciously worked on maintaining a calm, positive, and pure state of mind throughout the shoot. She explained that keeping her thoughts free from negativity helped her present the most authentic version of herself in front of the camera. In her view, portraying Sita required emotional honesty and inner discipline just as much as acting skills.

Her remarks underline the unique challenge of bringing a revered mythological character to life. Unlike fictional roles, characters such as Sita are deeply connected to the faith and emotions of millions of people. Every expression, dialogue, and gesture is likely to be closely observed, making the responsibility far greater than a typical film role.

Director Nitesh Tiwari also acknowledged Sai Pallavi’s dedication during the event. He praised the commitment she brought to the project and appreciated the effort she invested in understanding the emotional and spiritual depth of the character. The filmmaker noted that recreating an epic like Ramayana requires the collective passion of the entire team, from actors to technicians, to do justice to such an iconic story.

The film itself is among the biggest Indian productions currently in development. Planned as a two-part cinematic saga, Ramayana is scheduled to release its first installment during Diwali 2026, with the second chapter arriving in Diwali 2027.

The project features an impressive ensemble cast. Ranbir Kapoor steps into the role of Lord Ram, while Kannada superstar Yash plays Ravana. Ravie Dubey portrays Lakshman, Sunny Deol takes on the role of Hanuman, Rakul Preet Singh plays Surpanakha, Lara Dutta appears as Kaikeyi, and Kajal Aggarwal essays Mandodari.

Backing the ambitious venture are Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, globally renowned VFX company DNEG, and Yash’s production banner, Monster Mind Creations. With cutting-edge visual effects and a large-scale production, the film aims to present the ancient epic to modern audiences while preserving its emotional and spiritual essence.

Sai Pallavi’s comments have generated considerable interest because they reflect the sensitivity with which she is approaching the role. In an era where mythological adaptations often invite debates over authenticity and representation, her emphasis on faith, meditation, and humility sends a reassuring message to audiences who hold the Ramayana close to their hearts.

Whether this spiritual preparation translates into a memorable on-screen performance will only become clear when the film releases. However, her words have already sparked conversations about the balance between artistic expression and cultural reverence, making Ramayana one of the most anticipated Indian films in recent years.
