The White House launched a space-themed website called Aliens.gov, featuring a U.S map tracking “alien arrests”, which refers to foreign nationals who have been arrested for entering the United States illegally. The data on the website will be updated and will also be included in the White House app.
The users are greeted by a green text as they enter the site, which says “They walk among us”.
The website talks about “aliens” walking among Americans, living in their neighbourhoods, and interacting with them on a daily basis.
“Millions arrived under the cover of darkness and embedded themselves directly into our society,” stated the site “Countless presidents, congressmen, and senior officials knew exactly what was happening. Instead of protecting American citizens, they chose to cover it up and even accelerate the invasion.”
The government website then goes on to praise U.S President Donald Trump as the only man who had the “courage to tell the truth”.
In the end, the site features the text, “If you’ve witnessed an Alien abduction, do not be alarmed. The Alien is in good hands. We will take care of it… and return it safely to its place of origin.”
It also features a tip box where users can report “suspicious aliens”.
According to the American Immigration Council, there were 73,000 people held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centres across the United States as of mid-January.
“The public needs to know what the government is doing… systematic medical neglect and abuse, and denials of adequate food and water,” said the council.
Numerous protests have broken out against ICE in recent months, alleging human rights violations such as arbitrary arrests, severe medical neglect, and the targeting of vulnerable population.
ICE agents also fatally shot two American citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, in Minneapolis in January.
