Kuwait’s General Directorate Of Civil Aviation (DGCA) released surveillance footage of an Iranian drone hitting Terminal 1 at Kuwait International Airport, which killed an Indian national and injured 63 others on Wednesday. The attack also caused significant damage to the country’s aviation infrastructure.
The DGCA published the clip on X, showing the first moments of the attack and its aftermath, depicting a part of the terminal’s roof collapsing after the drone hit the building.
“The first moments of the brutal Iranian aggression via drones, which Terminal 1 (T1) of Kuwait International Airport was subjected to on 3 June 2026, causing loss of life, severe human injuries, and extensive material damage,” read the X post.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) denied targeting the airport, claiming that the damage was caused by a defective U.S-made Patriot missile that fell after failing to intercept Iranian missiles.
Indian national killed in attack on Kuwait airport
India’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the death of an Indian citizen in the airport strike. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait said the mission was “closely coordinating” with Kuwaiti authorities to provide assistance to the deceased’s family in India and to those Indians who were injured in the attack.
Kuwait’s military condemned the attack as an act of “criminal Iranian aggression”.
Iran and U.S Continue to exchange fire
Despite a fragile ceasefire declared on April 8, Washington and Tehran continue to exchange tit-for-tat attacks amid stalled negotiations.
The IRGC accused the United States of provoking a response by targeting a tanker and launching a strike on an Iranian ground control station in Qeshm Island. It claimed Iranian forces attacked the U.S Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain with missiles and drones as retaliation. However, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) denied the statement.
Meanwhile, Kuwait and Bahrain issued warnings to its residents amid its air defences intercepting the missiles.
