Iran Releases Footage Of Chaos At Hospitals During Early Strikes

The Iranian Red Crescent Society released CCTV footage of hospitals in Iran, showing medical staff rushing to evacuate patients during bombardments from the early days of the war. One clip showed a nurse carrying three newborns to safety while another clip depicted a baby being rushed to an ambulance moments after birth. Many staff were also depicted placing infants in fruit baskets to transport them quickly out of danger.

The footage highlights how bombardments affect those in densely populated and vulnerable places like hospitals, with many taking desperate measures to protect the helpless. It also puts an emphasis on the selflessness of health care workers who put their patients first before prioritising themselves in times of great adversity. The video shows the human cost of war, with the actual estimates of the casualties in the hospitals remaining unclear.

The ongoing Iran conflict began with Operation Epic Fury on February 28, a joint initiative by the United States and Israel. The operation targeted military infrastructure and missile systems in Iran, leading to the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other senior commanders. The tension between Iran and the two countries continue to remain heightened, especially with the blockade of the critical waterway, the Strait of Hormuz, and repeated maritime confrontations. The naval blockade has given rise to a global energy crisis due to the near-total disruption of oil shipments.

US President Donald Trump recently ordered aggressive action against Iranian boats caught laying mines in the Strait. The channel continues to be a hotspot of conflict with the US capturing another tanker related to Iranian oil smuggling and Iran responding by seizing two cargo ships.

As diplomatic relations continue to collapse, Trump announced a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah after White House talks. Iran also refuted US claims of internal divisions and asserted that its leadership was, in fact, united.
